I was LITERALLY holding my breath reading this and when I realized that YOU weren't driving, that it was someone else at the wheel I found my self angry :) like what maniacal friend or acquaintance of theirs is driving their car and this dear precious family over the cliff edge? LOL LOL

I was feeling so protective of you guys and then when you have your son speak, "Thanks for letting me drive Dad." I burst out laughing. And I took my first breath and realized I'd broken out in a sweat!!! LOL LOL LOL Oh my GAWD!!!

I can only say this Hawk: You are one CLASSY writer! I am dead serious. Man oh man, you are good!

Also loved the on my blog comment you sent last time. Never worry about being busy. I can so relate! My connection with you and Stacey just IS and won't go away. I'm not one to EVER keep score. I barely understand that concept. AND I also have almost no concept of time since the Rainforest. Seriously. I feel things on another level, a different type of connection to the people that I form bonds with.

PS I am also glad that you all survived the mad race car driver!! LOL LOL

PPS I also loved the string of near death experiences you've had it was like reading about myself. I just never lined them up like that. And when you did I thought, "gosh, this is like me." I can picture it all so well in my mind - and how I remember the feeling in the pit of my stomach when my now 27 year old was a teenager behind the wheel. Nothing quite so dramatic as what you've portrayed here, but, yep, I do know the feeling of being out of control and in the hands of a young person who exhibited not enough respect for the speeding metal - or death.

I'll never forget when same young son drove in Montana back when the speed signs said, "Whatever is reasonable and prudent." Big smile - heavy foot!

Thanks for reminding me of the battles I've overcome - I've taught two teen sons and one teen daughter how to drive. So far we've all lived to tell the tale. I've got one to go - more gray hairs for me! But so worth it!Cheriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05089859839673632529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8412329527528271414.post-7405470872038810182008-06-22T21:14:00.000-06:002008-06-22T21:14:00.000-06:00I am sure we are not the first parents to feel thi...I am sure we are not the first parents to feel this way.. but THEY weren't riding with Tyler!
LOL..
