Practice Makes perfect

The bow and arrow, for centuries the tool used for killing wild game to feed loved ones, for protecting the ancient hunters family from dangerous carnivores and the deciding factor in countless battles.

Today we enjoy the flight of the arrow as a sport, and for some people like me, the sport has become a way of life, even an obsession. Maurice Thompson wrote in The witchery of Archery ... " So long as the new moon returns in heaven, a bent beautiful bow. So long will the fascination of archery keep hold of the hearts of men." No matter if you are bracing a bow for the first time or if you have shot thousands of times. The magical moment when the feathered projectile leaves the bow is one of awe and wonder. To hear feathers slicing air, backed by the force of a strong wood bow is enticing to those who share the soul of an archer. I have been fortunate to share the first flight of the arrow with many people in my life. Very few disliked the experience, and most people have the same thing to say about archery ... It is fun!.. So the next time you get the chance to brace a bow and feel the weight of a quiver over your shoulder, remember the first flight of the arrow, could be the start of a lifelong obsession. At least it could be a time you can look back at and say I HAD FUN ... and you will hear the whisper of feathers slicing air in your minds eye and smile at the memories.. Hawk a/ho

Beautiful words as usual. I am glad you have taken the time to share your obsession with our children, and hope you will create many memorable times hunting with them in the future.
