Friends..

What is it about us as human beings that defines us the most? Is it our ability to use our brain power to decipher the ways of the world and the inner workings of the human society. How about our ability to live, hope and believe as we see fit. Maybe it is our inability to leave no stone unturned in the scientific fields, or our constant struggle to better ourselves. I am not sure , but one thing for certain effects our lives and who we are in this great circle of life, our friends. I am not talking about relatives we cannot choose them they are naturally bonded to us through relation, nor am I referring to acquaintances or someone you are friendly with. I am talking about true friends, most of us can say we have had at least one true friend in our lives. That special person who somehow accepts us despite our faults, or misgivings. The person who is always there for you and you are constantly aware of them and think of them even when you are far apart. For me that friend comes in the shape of a woman, she has been my friend for seventeen years and has stood by me through most of the trials and hardships of my life. I am blessed to have a few friends in can count on and whom I truly trust and believe in, these brothers and sisters of mine are good friends and hold a special place in my life. But my best friend is the one who shares my deepest thoughts and most spiritual connections. She often disagrees with me , sometimes to the point of outright argument , but usually she is looking out for my best interest. When my restless soul requires a break from the world and the high lands beckon to me, she helps me pack and offers up words of encouragement concerning my latest pilgrimage, and rarely gets mad at the thought of my spending days alone with my other true love, nature. This friend of mine is also the mother of my children and my soul mate, the reason I was born to this earth and my greatest inspiration. I wish upon the rest of the world a friend like her, strong, honest, and loving, we may fight, disagree, and sometimes get downright mad at one another, but friends sometimes do that. Through the years I have grown as a person, become the man she has always wished for, but not nearly what she deserves. I know this post does not have anything to do with archery, but I felt compelled to write these words concerning the one who keeps me from going crazy in this modern society, and who completes my circle. I hope for all who read these humble words that you remember your friend today, only the rocks live forever, but true love and undying friendship follow close behind.. Hawk

Namaste' Hawk, wow...and these words are EXACTLY why you have so many friends and those who treasure you, love comes in all forms.

Stacey if you read this (or Hawk can send this to you) I SWEAR , you look like my older sister...my mouth opened in this photo and I was like oh my god you look like sister your even the same age. WOW! I keep shaking my head, only her and I are as different in the extremes as two beings can be. Noone would know she is my sister we're so different hahaha

Your a stunning stunning girl my dear, seriously, but that's not your greatest gift, as our physical qualities morph over the years.

But wow, I feel like hugging you. You both have me in love with you! Your passion and love of one another and life. I only ever write what I mean.

That was such a beautiful post it brought tears of joy to my eyes. To put your feeling for the woman of your heart into words for all to see is mighty.

I think this IS about archery, because it is about you and what is important to you. Without Stacey in your life, your archery, your dreams and wanderings in the mountains might not happen, or they might not have the same freedom because you might not have that anchor that allows you to go into the hills knowing that you love and are loved. Having that and knowing that allows for great peace and freedom in our lives. At the same time that we bury our souls into the loved one, that love creates a feeling of safety and peace in our lives, which allows us to let go. I have had this twice in my life. At one point he was an anchor that allowed for my wild ways, that allowed me to feel safe while I wandered forever testing myself and pushing back the boundaries both within myself and in the wild. Now in my life it is the same,a great love. Great love, friendship and sharing allow us to become the best we already are. Thank you Hawk. Hugs to you and Stacey. She has a beautiful soul. As do you.
